No Kid Hungry Text Line Helps Families Find Meals During Coronavirus School Closures

Flyer Connect is partnering with Share our Strength and No Kid Hungry to provide families with accurate information as to where they can find their meals.

With schools across the country closed in response to the coronavirus pandemic, schools, food banks and community organizations have stepped up to make sure kids continue to get the healthy meals they depend on every day. No Kid Hungry has launched a texting hotline to provide information about emergency food distribution sites in communities where schools have been closed due to COVID19. Families can text the word “FOOD” (or “COMIDA”) to 720-336-9663 to find their nearest sites. Make sure families know these meals are available and where they can find them by helping spread the word by sharing on social media and with your friends, family and colleagues. [ Learn More ]

Grants Available to Support Coronavirus Response If you're feeding children and families affected by the coronavirus, Share Our Strength is here to help. Schools and workplaces are closing nationwide due to coronavirus. Vulnerable children are losing the school meals they depend on, and low-income families are struggling with lost wages. We're offering emergency grants to support local school districts and nonprofit organizations in their efforts to ensure kids get the nutritious food they need. Please complete a brief information form , and our grants team be in touch with instructions if your organization is eligible for funding.

The Colorado Blueprint to End Hunger has released a Request for Applications for the Colorado COVID-19 Emergency Hunger Relief Fund.
