Your COVID-19 Checklist
Easily communicate with families in times of uncertainty.

With the spread of Coronavirus, students, families, and staff are impacted by the uncertainty of school closures. We at Flyer Connect have been blown away by the rapid response we've seen from our partnering schools and organizations. From their activities, we have compiled an emergency response checklist.
To get tips for responding to COVID-19, as well as important Flyer Connect updates, add the "Flyer Academy" school to your app.
Flyer Connect's Recommended COVID-19 Response Checklist
Schedule messages
to keep connected
- We are all feeling lonely, scared, and anxious, which means families want to hear from you. Send at least three messages a week to keep them informed, with the added benefit of giving families a sense of connection while isolated.
- Schedule out your messages in advance, including where food is available during school closures, what activities they can do to support learning at home, or how to keep entertained while everyone is staying home. Flyer Academy on the app will share content ideas of what you can send to your families.
Add a COVID-19 Resources tile to the resources tab of the app
- With so much confusion, families are seeking information. We have compiled a list of resources that you can update on your app and send out to families in your broadcast messages.
Update the School Calendar synced to the Flyer App
- Delete cancelled events and update the first day back to school and any other recently added events.
Update a banner with a link to a resource
- We've created a tappable banner for you to download on your computer, and upload into the dashboard. Link it to an informative resource, like this one.
Create a system for mental health check-ins with students
- Use Flyer Connect's forms for families and students to schedule a time with their advisor, social worker, or counselor to ensure they are getting the mental support they need on a regular basis. We recommend setting up at least weekly check-ins, or students can send teachers a daily message via Flyer Connect chat or email to let them know if they need help and how they are feeling.
Create a system to collect remote learning work
- To prevent a significant learning slump, many schools are sending work for students, even if the district has fully suspended classes. Teachers can send out messages with the week's assignment, and collect responses with Flyer Connect's homework submission form. This allows students who do not have home internet access to be able to stay connected with work via their phone data plans.
Do you need additional support on family communication during COVID-19 to meet your school or organization's specific needs? Flyer Connect is here to help, and we've opened up our calendars to work alongside you. Schedule a time with us here.
