Release Notes - November 2018

In October we released our Private groups in October which allowed for schools import contacts, assign them to private groups and message them privately via email, text and the app.

In November we've expanded on that capability to help schools keep their contacts updated. This is our integration with Clever Secure Sync and Instant Login. Our partnership with Clever allows schools and districts to maintain their roster in their Student Information System and have it sync nightly with Flyer Connect to bring in new contacts, update existing contacts and remove old contacts. Our Clever Sync feature is available to District and School level admins who have a free Clever account.

Our new text editor improves usability in many ways including:

• Copy and paste formatted text from Word and Google Docs.
  
• Inserting and embedding hyperlinks
• Formatting text
• Copy and pasting images and gifs
• Character counter - This is helpful when sending Text messages that has a maximum character limit of 160 characters

Attachments make it easy to share files via email and push notifications with your community. Simply tap "Add File" and upload your file off your computer.

Files have a maximum size of 5MB per message which is perfect for presentations, flyers, photos and short videos!

Flyer Connect supports the follow types of files:

Images: JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, PDF
Documents: CSV, XLS, XLSX, DOC, DOCX, txt
Videos: MPEG, MOV
Audio: MP3, M4A

Verified users in the Flyer School app can now receiving individual messages from district, school or group admins. These messages are located in the message center. The message center includes a bouncing indicator to notify the user of any unread messages. These messages are delivered to the user as push notifications in the same way group-wide and school-wide messages are delivered.
