NoCo Alert (Larimer County, CO) partners with ReachWell for translated emergency notifications

Inclusive Emergency Notifications

Larimer County community members can now receive emergency alerts in over 100 languages with NOCO Alert’s new app. This week, Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority is collaborating with local community organizations to introduce the ReachWell app to communities throughout Larimer County. Anyone in the community can now receive emergency alerts, as well as resources on emergency preparedness.

“After the Marshall Fire, it was abundantly clear that we needed to do a better job informing non-English speakers about emergency events,” said Kimberly Culp, Chief Executive Officer of LETA 911. “Our partnership with ReachWell is an opportunity to make sure all citizens know how to respond to emergencies, no matter the language they speak.”

ReachWell’s app is available to everyone, even visiting tourists. It does not require users to create an account or enter personal information to follow LETA 911’s channel and receive alerts.

“We know there are many barriers to effectively engaging everyone in the community, and we would never want that to be a reason why someone misses vital life-saving information,” said Zuben Bastani, CEO and Founder of ReachWell. “We designed the most accessible tool out there because everyone has a right to easily access information and resources.”

Citizens can follow LETA 911 on the ReachWell app in just two steps:

  1. Download the ReachWell app and accept push notifications.
  2. Optional: Select their preferred language.
  3. Add NOCO Alert (LETA 911)
